Common questions

When We Can Come

What happens after I call?

A local team member talks through what is going on and books you a time that suits. On the day, you get a written fixed price on site before any work starts, so there is nothing to guess at.

How fast can you get here?

For genuine emergencies like sparks, burning smells or a total loss of power, we move quickly and a licensed electrician can triage it over the phone. For standard bookings we are often out same or next day.

What counts as an electrical emergency?

Anything that puts people or property at risk counts: a burning smell, visible sparks, an outlet that is hot to touch, or the whole home losing power with no clear cause. If in doubt, switch off at the main and call us.

How do I book a job?

Call (02) 9538 7139 and a real person answers, or send the enquiry form and we will ring you back. We confirm a time, send a reminder the day before, and turn up when we said we would.

Common questions

Money, Quotes and the $50 Off

How do I pay for the work?

You settle up once the job is finished and you are happy with it. The amount matches the written quote you agreed to beforehand, with no surprise line items added at the end.

Do your prices change once you start?

No. The written price is locked in when you accept it, even if the job runs longer than expected. If something genuinely unforeseen turns up behind a wall, we pause, show you what it is, and agree a fresh price first.

What does the $50 off your first service cover?

New customers get $50 off their first booking with us, applied to the quoted price for that job. It is our way of making it easy to try us once and see how we work.

Is the quote really free?

Yes. We provide free on-site quotes with no call-out fee for quoting, so you can get a firm price before committing. There are no travel or admin charges hidden in there either.

Common questions

Local Answers for Camperdown

Can you handle new builds and renovations?

Absolutely. Renovations are a big part of the work here. We sequence the rough-in and fit-off around your builder and other trades so nothing gets held up or done twice.

Do you work on heritage and strata properties?

Yes. Older character homes and strata buildings are common in this part of the Inner West. We handle both, including the extra care heritage fittings and shared switchboards call for.

What suburbs do you service?

We cover Camperdown and the suburbs next door. That includes Newtown, Annandale, Stanmore, Marrickville, Leichhardt and Lilyfield.

How local are you, really?

We are on the ground across the Inner West most weeks, so a booking here is a short run for us rather than a trip from the other side of the city. You get a nearby team, not a contractor dispatched from far away.

Common questions

Licensed, Insured and Done Properly

Can I do my own electrical work in NSW?

No. In NSW, only a licensed electrician may carry out electrical work, aside from very minor things like plugging in an appliance. Anything wired into the mains must be done by a licensed sparkie, both for safety and to keep your insurance valid.

What brands do you install?

We reach for Clipsal, Hager, SAL and Beacon Lighting rather than cheap imports. Quality switchgear costs a little more at the start and saves you the headaches that bargain fittings bring later.

What is a safety switch and do I need one?

A safety switch (RCD) cuts the power in a fraction of a second if it detects a fault, which is what protects you from a serious shock. Modern wiring rules require them, and plenty of older homes here still do not have them on every circuit.

What is AS/NZS 3000?

AS/NZS 3000 is the Australian and New Zealand Wiring Rules, the standard every compliant job must meet. All of our work is done to it, which is what keeps your home safe and your insurance valid.
